YourChi
Your photos, gathered as your Chi.
Ten thousand photos, and nowhere to sit with them. YourChi gathers the days buried in your camera roll into small books — a cover, a title, a few pages — made on your phone, by your phone — we never see a single one.
What it’s for
YourChi takes the thousands of photos already sitting on your phone and quietly makes something of them. It finds the trip, the day, the ordinary afternoon buried in your camera roll, and shapes each one into a Chi — a small photo book with a cover, a title, and a few pages you can actually sit with.
You don’t sort anything. YourChi reads your library right on your device, does the work itself, and hands you back the days worth returning to. No accounts, no servers — and we never look at your photos.
What the name means
Chi (气) is your life energy — your breath, the current running through a day. Your photos are full of it, and it gets lost in a grid of ten thousand pictures. YourChi gathers it back out, a few pages at a time.
A closer look
You don’t sort a thing — Chi finds, you review
YourChi reads your library on its own and shapes the Chi it finds, then asks which are worth keeping. Your photos never reach us.
Every Chi, its own photo book
A cover, a title, a date — a trip or an ordinary afternoon, given a face you recognise.
Pages worth sitting with
Inside, your photos become captioned pages you can linger on, not a grid to scroll past.
On this day
Your library quietly brings a day back, on the day it happened.
Collections
Your Chi, gathered into collections the way you actually lived them.
Magical Chi
Mark the days that made you. They turn golden, stand alone, and come back first — in search, in collections, on the day itself.
Find any photo, any day
Search across your Chi and land exactly where you meant to be.
Make your own Chi
When you’d rather shape one yourself, start with the album and build it your way.
Private by nature
We never see your photos, and the private corners sit behind Face ID.
Questions people ask
- What is a “Chi”?
- In the app, a Chi is one small photo book — a trip, a day, an afternoon — with a cover, a title, and a few pages. The word is older than the app: in Chinese, chi (气) means breath, the life energy running through things. Your photos are full of it; each book gathers a little of it back.
- How is this different from the Photos app?
- Photos keeps everything — ten thousand pictures, side by side. YourChi makes something of them: it finds the days that mattered and turns each one into a small book. Photos is where your pictures live; YourChi is where they become memories you actually revisit.
- Why does it need access to my photo library?
- Because that’s where your life already is. YourChi reads your library right on your phone to find the moments worth keeping. We never see your photos — there’s no server and no account. It works with partial access too, if you’d rather share only some photos.
- Will it fill up my phone with copies?
- No — it can actually free space. YourChi doesn’t duplicate your library; each book keeps only small, page-sized copies of its photos. So once a Chi is made, you can delete the originals from Photos and the book still opens, pages intact.
