nani break

Coming soon

the break that puts you back

bored? good timing. nani break hands you one proper little break — a story, a run of riddles, a quote with a past, odd bits of news, a small game — then it ends. on purpose.

What it’s for

nani break is an app that fills your bored moment with one proper little break — a story, a run of riddles, a quote with a past, odd bits of news, a small game — and then it ends. that’s the whole idea: a beginning, a middle, and — imagine — an end.

no feed. no streaks. no account. no tracking. we have no servers. riddles that bite back, real things worth seeing from the met’s open collection and nasa’s cameras, news you missed rather than news that shouts, little games — and a warm goodbye every time, because leaving is the point.

everything true is verified. we never see what you read, what you liked, or how long you stayed — private by design, not by policy. nani break is a time-pass, not an encyclopedia: facts come from real sources, but the telling is ours. enjoy it, don’t footnote it.

What the name means

nani means grandmother. a nani break is the break you used to get at her knee — a story, a riddle, a small game — and you came back from it better than you left. that’s what the app gives you.

Questions people ask

what actually happens in a break?
you open the app, and it hands you one break — a story, a run of riddles, a quote with a past, odd bits of news, a small game. you don’t pick; it’s drawn for you. you read it, play it, and then it ends, with a goodbye. that’s it. no feed to fall into afterwards.
can I choose my break?
no. that’s the point of it — you don’t know what you’ll get, and the not-knowing is half the break. nani does learn what you like within a kind of break (which stories, which quotes), but never which kind you get. that stays a surprise.
what if I don’t like my break?
say so. at the start of every break there’s a not this?! — tap it and nani hands you a different one. it’s there for the first beat, then it goes, because once you’re in, you’re in. and every break you leave early, nani quietly takes as a hint.
where does all this come from?
real places. the met’s open collection, nasa’s cameras and dispatches, hundred-year-old newspapers, old stories that have been told for centuries. everything true is verified — but nani break is a time-pass, not an encyclopedia. the facts are theirs; the telling is ours.
what does it cost, and what do you see of me?
free for 21 days, then pay once — no subscription, ever. and we see nothing: no account, no tracking, no servers. what you read, what you liked, how many breaks you’ve taken stays on your phone.
